Keep Snow in Mind! Property Manager's Winter Outlook 2010-2011

Keep Snow in Mind!!!

How do we get Property Managers thinking about snow in the middle of the summer heat?

As last year's snow season has wrapped up and many of us are busy with our summer divisions (or vacation for those lucky few) the snow seems light years away - many times it is easy to put the snow on the back burner until it gets "closer." However for some areas such as here in Colorado we get plowable events in October. So in reality we are 3 months and counting until the snow flies. Now we in the industry all realize this, however, how do you get your property managers thinking snow when it's in the 90's and there are heat warnings all over the US?

Creativity is the key word here. We have to get them thinking about the winter months. There are a number of ways to do something like this, there is always a discount incentive which is received differently in every market. Another great idea is to send a picture either through e-blast, or postcard with a captivating image from last season, perhaps from the big blizzard last year, with a very simple message that highlights your company's competencies.

There are always much more guerilla ways to do this. We have help summer ice-cream socials for property managers and decorate everything in snowflakes, or you could host a Christmas in July event to get people a bit more in the mood.

There are also companies online you can order some really inventive cards that pop out into a snow globe, which could be sent to all customers as a thank you for last year and a returning customer discount for this year.

We also offer incentives for early signing, the sooner you get those contracts the sooner you can start routing and staging plans - remember it is much better to be the first one out and ready to go, than running to catch the pack!

Keep the snow in Mind!
